Bruce Hornsby brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Hornsby began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the drama "Making Love" (1982) with Michael Ontkean, the Michael Moore documentary "Roger & Me" (1989) and the comedy "Switch" (1991) with Ellen Barkin. His music also appeared in the action film "Backdraft" (1991) with Kurt Russell. In addition to his music, Hornsby appeared in "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1974-2015). Hornsby won a Best New Artist Grammy Award in 1986. In the nineties, Hornsby devoted his time to various credits, such as "The 34th Annual Grammy Awards" (CBS, 1991-92), "Two Rooms: Tribute to Elton John & Bernie Taupin" (ABC, 1991-92) and "Branford Marsalis: The Music Tells You" (1992) starring Branford Marsalis. He also worked on "Tin Cup" with Kevin Costner (1996). Hornsby's music was also featured in "Bamboozled" (2000), "Close to Home" (2001) with Vanessa Ross and the Tyrese Gibson action flick "Waist Deep" (2006). In addition to his music, Hornsby also appeared on-screen in the Robin Williams film "World's Greatest Dad" (2009). Hornsby's music was most recently featured in "Get Hard" (2015) and "BlacKkKlansman" (2018).
